Photobucket Slideshow

  Photobucket Slideshow Link

This is a slideshow I created to represent the 14 different elements of art.  These elements include line, value, shapes, forms, space, color, texture, balance, contrast, movement, emphasis, pattern, proportion, and unity.  Artists use different combinations of these elements when creating their work. I kept them in mind when taking the photographs for this slideshow.  For example, to capture proportion I took a picture of my dog, the little black chihuahua, playing with my friend's dog.  She has an english mastic, which is easily 10 times the size of my dog.  Other factors were also represented in this photo.  Balance is another element present in this photo.  The smaller darker dog balances out the larger light colored dog in the photo.  You could also argue that the elements color, texture, movement and unity are also elements in the picture.  I used the examples in the textbook to help me figure out what category the photos fell into.

  4. Your photos were perfect in defining both elements and principle! Your slideshow may very well have been the best out of those that I have seen thus far.
